Carl Andre (Full name: Carl Andre Petzelt) has worked with some of the finest musicians in Toronto, recorded major-label albums in New Orleans and Atlanta with GRAMMY award-winning producer Malcolm Burn, toured with Canadian icons RUSH as a Sampler programmer (commemorated on a gold record from Atlantic Records for Logic programming and Synthesizer programming on the Test For Echo LP), recorded dozens of records for Toronto indie artists and bands, and in club, theatre, and festival settings, recorded and mixed legendary artists and bands for Internet Broadcast and CD release.

While engineering and producing others, Carl honed his writing and arranging chops, releasing five albums as an integral member of Canadian indie acts including BETP5 (BETP5 released a highly collectible concept album about the Avrow Arrow which included a cutout paper model of the Avro Arrow in the Digipack), Husk, The Danolectros, and Camaro Canyon (Camaro Canyon found YouTube success through the soundtrack to the extreme sports indie film: Tea & Biscuits - A Very British Mountain Bike Film).

In 2015, Carl answered his own muse with an instrumental full-length Acid jazz release for Psychonavigation Records (Dublin).  The album titled Carl Andre, was acclaimed by The Scene Magazine as "cool for anything" and “motivating” while Weird Canada cited Carl Andre as an artist to watch out for.  The leadoff track was selected for a compilation CD by Custom Made Music (Virginia Beach, Virginia).

In 2018, Carl Andre released his first Electronic LP titled Gee Bee followed by a series of Electronic and World music EPs (2019/20).  Carl Andre's Electronic music delves deep into the music creation system that is Garageband 2.0 but made fresh again with Melodyne Studio 4.  Where his Electronic music is calculated and precise, Carl Andre's World music pieces are loose and natural sounding with performances on real instruments including the Berimbau, African Marimba, Djembe, Bass guitar, Classical guitar, and Electric guitars.

In addition to Carl Andre's releases, over one hundred recordings became available for licensing at Pond5 Music Licensing and selected tracks from Carl Andre's bands became available for licensing through Jamendo Music Licensing (Luxembourg).  Always searching for new innovative platforms, Carl Andre also uploaded a Husk album and a Danolectros EP to Resonate (innovative Blockchain music Cooperative based in Berlin).

With his experience mixing music from around the world, Carl Andre embodies a deep understanding of how music is meant to sound regardless of the genre.  Whether it is Jazz, Classical, Big band, Folk, Country, Blues, Rock or Electronic, Carl has done it, and done it well.  For over twenty-five years, Carl Andre has made a life for himself behind the scenes and on the front lines of the music industry, and, in that time, has always embraced the latest digital technologies and digital distribution channels.
